Boy are we stoked to have just landed this absolute beauty of a Pinot deal! The Pass is an export label Martinborough Pinot Noir produced by the winemaking teams at Te Kairanga and Martinborough Vineyards (the guys that produce Te Tera Martinborough Pinot!) with the fruit carefully selected by highly acclaimed Master of Wine Alastair Maling (just quietly, he’s a bit of a legend!)
Made for a high end European supermarket chain the wine was loaded on to a container ship in Nelson ready to set sail when the war broke out in Ukraine. With the Black Sea Ports blocked by the Russians (where the wine was due to be unloaded!) they managed to yank the wine off the ship just in time!
Now this cancelled export is in our warehouse and ready to be shipped straight to your place at a bargain hot price. Trust us when we say you’ll be absolutely stoked to be scooping this one for a snip under $20 per bottle. The quality of Pinot under the cap is clearly worth $25-30.
From an amazing 2019 vintage in Martinborough (one of the best in decades and described as “the sort of vintage you dream about”) this has the obvious quality you’d come to expect from anything produced by the likes of Te Kairanga and the legendary Martinborough Vineyards.
A richly flavoured, velvety Martinborough Pinot, aged in French oak, full of bright cherry and strawberry fruit flavours with a touch of spice.
Honestly, what are you waiting for? This is an obvious one to be tucking into over the cooler months ahead.
Damn, you're looking young for your age!
