What started out as a rabbit infested block of dirt back in 1997 has become one of Central Otago’s shining stars.
Speaking of stars and the sun and the light you might be wondering how they came up with “Last Light Riesling”? Well the fruit comes from a single vineyard that sits at the bottom of a hill where the sun’s last rays linger and helping produce fruit that ripens slowly, giving plenty of intense flavours.
Scoring 4 1/2 Stars with Michael Cooper who said “This medium-bodied wine is invitingly scented, with good intensity of citrusy, slightly peachy flavours, full of youthful vigour, gentle sweetness and finely balanced acidity. Best drinking 2024+.”
Sitting between an off-dry and medium style Riesling (16.4 grams of residual sugar for you wine nerds out there!) with citrus fruit sweetness balanced by crisp acidity. This is just the style to pair with Asian cuisine like Thai.
