Having nearly exhausted nearly every three number combination in their Bin series Penfolds thought long and hard what to name their next creation after. Then hey presto – how about the guy who actually came up with the Bin series?
Max Schubert. Penfolds Chief Winemaker for 37 years, created the Bin series with the launch of Bin 28 in 1959, created Grange (now regarded as one of the world’s most collectable wines), mastered the art of multi region blending. It’s fair to say then, what a legend!
This is Rosé to the max and Penfolds to the max! Using Pinot Noir fruit from the Adelaide Hills region this is a gorgeous pale pink, light, crisp and dry style.
Scoring 91/100 and a Top Rank Award with The Real Review’s Stuart Knox. He called it “Very pale rose-petal-pink colour. Crushed strawberry and clotted cream aromas. Light and airy across the palate, with a supple acidity that brings some drive and focus to the simple, but bright and juicy red fruits on the tongue. Good length and balance makes it a great crowd-pleaser and a lovely summer wine.”
