When we saw 1859 on the label we assumed it was from 1859 and ordered loads! On closer inspection we realised it’s actually 2022, making it one of the youngest Shiraz in warehouse right now – how ironic.

All the marketing waffle suggests Saltram released this wine to pay tribute to the year William Salter founded Saltram, however it conveniently fills the price gap created now that Saltram Mamre Brook is slowly pricing itself out of the reach of many of us Aussie Shiraz lovers. Some marketing whiz has just earned themselves a healthy pay rise!

Big and rich as you’d expect from Barossa, vibrant and juicy with soft tannins from an exceptional Barossa vintage. Very easy to drink and a must try wine perfect for fans of full bodied reds. Is that a lump of lamb sizzling on the grill?
