When Catherine (the daughter of Beaujolais winegrowers) met Laurent (from a family of Burgundian wine negociants) in 1986 at university studying oenology (wine and winemaking!) it was inevitable their future was in le vin (wine!).
In the 1990s Catherine and Laurent headed to the Languedoc in the south of France with no vines, no winery and very little coin in the bank but a lot of determination to launch their own wine brand. By the early 2000s Les Jamelles was born and exported to the USA where it caught the eye (and nose and mouth) of Robert Parker, one of the world’s most influential wine critics. The rest as they say is history and today Les Jamelles is one of the Languedoc’s largest producer and exported to 45 countries across the planet.
Catherine has long been convinced this region can produce the best Rosés in France. With that in mind she created Reflects Secrets – and the secret begins with the letter M.
As Catherine says “For 25 years, I have been exploring the Pays d’Oc, with the absolute certainty that the region has all it takes to produce the best rosés In France. With that ambition at heart, I created Reflets Secrets : a signature rosé with a special touch, which is mourvèdre. All of the skills and know-how at les Jamelles, in terms of terroir identification, wine-making and blending, have contributed to the creation of this exceptional rosé.”
It’s Mediterranean and it’s the grape variety Mourvedre. When added to the classic blend of Grenache, Syrah & Cinsault the result is a mmmmmm very yum glass of southern French Rosé!
Scoring 4 Stars in Cuisine magazine’s annual Rosé tasting – the judges called it “fresh and approachable with nice freshness and an attractive long, dry and refreshing finish.”
Serve it chilled and pair with white meats, fish and summer salads.
