Zephyr Sauvignon Blanc

If we say "Zephyr" and you say "Ford" you’re on the wrong wave length (and showing your age!) – we’re talking the very classy wine label with international acclaim, owned and operated by the Glover family.

A third generation farming family Owen and Wendy turned their Dillon’s Point farm in Blenheim into a vineyard back in 1985. The Glover’s their own label Zephyr back in 2007 with a real focus on the aromatic styles (Gewurztraminer, Riesling and Sauvy)..

Their son Ben is in charge of the winemaking side of things and chances are you’ve probably slurped on something Ben’s had a hand in making. Wither Hills, Waipara Hills, Mud House and Corbans are just a few of the big names Glover’s been behind.

With such a talented dude working his magic behind the scenes you can understand with it’s no surprise to see this single vineyard Sauvy reeling in the gongs (Gold medal at the Easter Wine Show and 5 Stars in Sam Kim’s Wine Orbit). Ben describes their 2014 Sauvy as having "fruit energy and exquisite purity". We reckon it’s worth the extra spend to lay your hands on some seriously smart Sauvignon.
