Barossa Shiraz aged in Scotch whiskey barrels? Are ya nuts?!
What started off as a crazy wine experiment back in 2012 has now become a regular in the Jacob’s Creek line up.
This is Jacob’s Creek Double Barrel Shiraz and, as it sounds, it’s aged in two different styles of oak barrels. Initially aged in traditional American oak barrels and then parcels being finished in aged Scotch whisky barrels.
All that talk of oak and barrels doesn’t paint the real deal – this wine’s all about the fruit. We’re talking sweet red fruits and dark chocolate flavours – a medium to full bodied bodied, smooth, rich and Aussie red full of flavour. Delicious now and good to drink between now and 2030.
For a master chef style food and wine pairing crack this open wwith Wagyu beef, aged rib eye, roasted seasonal vegetables or pan seared Scotch Fillet wrapped in smoky bacon.
