Back in 1997 they were a rabbit infested block of dirt. Now they’re a Bannockburn Pinot producer smashing it on the international wine scene.
When you’ve got superstar Central Otago winemaker Peter Bartle at the helm you’re in good hands. This guys knows Central Pinot like the back of his hand!
Bald Hills 3 Acres Pinot Noir is the baby brother to their gold medal and trophy magnet Single Vineyard Pinot. It’s all estate grown fruit, aged 12 months in oak, an everyday Central Pinot that won’t break the bank.
Scoring 4 1/2 Stars with critic Michael Cooper who said “Offering fine value, the youthful 2021 vintage (4.5*) was hand-picked and matured for a year in French oak barriques (19 per cent new). Deep, bright ruby, it is mouthfilling and vigorous, with strong, fresh cherry, plum and spice flavours, showing very good complexity, and a savoury, harmonious finish. Still unfolding, it’s an ageworthy red, well worth cellaring to 2025+.”
A heap of delicious dark red fruits, spice and supple tannins. Yum.
Damn, you're looking young for your age!
