Do not adjust your sets! Yes, you are looking at one of the most gob smacking white wine deals of the year and definitely one of the biggest Pinot Gris deals we’ve seen in quite some time.

This is the stunning Villa Maria Single Vineyard Seddon Pinot Gris that Michael Cooper describes as “One of the country’s top Pinot Gris” slashed in price, this is one very final shipment we’ve been able to land at $15.99 per bottle! This is a wine we’ve sold on promo for $25 over the years, sitting around $30 full price! Incredible!

In a sign of the times and with slowing NZ wine exports and a tightening global and domestic economy a number of NZ wineries are having to make tough calls and reluctantly slash prices – this is one of ’em.

The Seddon vineyard has always been one of Villa Maria’s most prized sites and especially for Pinot Gris. A class act from year to year and this 2020 is no different…

5 Stars (Michael Cooper)
“One of the country’s top Pinot Gris, this Awatere Valley wine is estate-grown and partly barrel-fermented (in 2020, 32 per cent of the blend was fermented in seasoned oak barriques; the rest was fermented and lees-aged for nine months in tanks). Currently delicious, the 2020 vintage (5*) is highly fragrant, weighty and rich, with notably concentrated, stone-fruit flavours, a slightly oily texture and a dryish (9 grams/litre of residual sugar), well-rounded finish.”

94/100 & Top Rank Award (Bob Campbell MW, The Real Review)
“Rich, almost luscious pinot gris with ripe peach, tree fruit, mixed spice, floral, honeysuckle and brioche flavours. An initial hint of sweetness helps promote a silken and sumptuous texture, although the wine finishes dry.”

This is the dinner party quality wine at a school night quaffing price. A richer and more textural style Pinot Gris with a dry finish – definitely the style we prefer when we go Gris.

Do not hesitate, do not muck around, grab that extra case before it sells out!
