Sipping a flute or two of Leveret Estate’s IQ Premium Brut won’t make you smarter, although you’ll almost definitely feel a little smug.
That’s because Leveret Estate is actually owned by the guys that used to own Morton Estate and if you’re a regular sipper of fizz you’ll instantly know that name. For the money this is right up there with the best value Champagne style bubbles made in NZ.
Made in the Methode Traditionelle style (the same way as Champagne, using the classic varieties of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier), aged for 18 months on lees (a technique winemakers use to add texture and complexity to wine) and only produced under the Leveret label when they can make a bubbly of good quality.
Scoring 92/100, a Top Ranking and Top Value award from Master of Wine Bob Campbell for The Real Review – Bob said “A blend of pinot noir, chardonnay and pinot meunier, with at least 18 months in bottle with the yeast lees. An integrated wine showing bottle age with freshly-baked bread, citrus and subtle floral flavours supported by tangy acidity.”
It looks and tastes the part. It’s a no brainer!
Damn, you're looking young for your age!
