Ahh Provence. Mediterranean coastline, on the foothills of the Alps, tiny medieval villages, spectacular hillsides, countryside, woods, rivers and streams and loads of amazing picturesque vineyards.
It sure is pretty. Much like the wine they’re famous for – Rosé! There’s nothing quite like Provence Rosé and this little guy from Chateau Routas ticks all the boxes. Chateau Routas are located in the Provence sub region of Coteaux Varois, an area nestled north of a mountain range.
The vineyards sit at 400m above sea level – one of the highest in the area. So what does that mean? Well, they’ll have pretty mean views but more importantly the vineyards are exposed to a cooler climate and allow the grapes to ripen slowly.
A pretty pale pink colour (wine nerds would call it salmon) and the world famous style of Provence Rosé – crisp summer fruit flavours with a refreshing, classic dry finish.
