Made by Yealands Estate from a single block (the L5 Block) from a single vineyard (the Seaview vineyard) this is the wine that made international headlines when it scored Trophy for Best In Show at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2020.

With over 16,000 entries from 56 countries and a panel of 116 international judges – it’s fair to say no wine sneaks through this competition without being put to the test! The L5 Sauvy was the only New Zealand wine to receive a “Best In Show” award, an award only given to 50 wines from the entire competition!

It also scored a hot 95/100 & Top Rank from Master of Wine Bob Campbell, who said “Best in Show at the 2020 Decanter Wine Awards. Intense, pungent sauvignon blanc on the greener end of the flavour spectrum with gooseberry, salty, oyster-shell, lime, citrus and green capsicum characters. Impressive. It gives a nod in the direction of Sancerre.”
