The classic Aussie red blend finished in aged Caribbean Rum barrels. How juicy!
And now for something completely different. Shiraz Cabernet aged in Caribbean Rum Barrels?! What started off as a crazy wine experiment back in 2012 has now become a regular in the Jacob’s Creek line up – Jacob’s Creek Double Barrel. And as the name suggests, there’s more than one barrel that helps to add more richness, texture and complex flavours.
What started with selected parcels of Shiraz and Cabernet fruit from across the South Australian region was first aged in traditional French and American oak barrels before being finished in barrels previously used to age Caribbean rum.
The result is a full bodied, rich and lucious red with a smorgasbord of dark fruit and spice flavours. A seriously interesting and delicious take on the classic Aussie red blend of Shiraz and Cabernet.
