One of the most jaw dropping clearance deals we’ve come across – and that’s no exaggeration! As part of this one-off, never to be repeated winery clearance deal ARA’s premium “Select Block” Pinot Gris is being cleared at almost HALF price. Once we tried it (a few times, y’know, just to make sure) we wanted more. And more. And more. So we took every last box they had!
It wasn’t that long ago that this single estate, premium Pinot Gris was being sold in the market for $24.99. With the ARA winery being bought out by the Giesen Wine Group, some of the ARA brands are being dissolved including their prized (and absolutely kick arse!) “Single Block” range.
ARA Winemaker Jeff Clarke carefully selected premium parcels of fruit from specially identified sites (blocks) dotted around ARA’s single estate in Marlborough’s Waihopai Valley. The wine was aged on less, a technique winemakers use to give the wine more richness and texture.
Four years on from its release and this Pinot Gris is still showing its class – and also backing up that quality Pinot Gris can age well. Loads of bright, fresh fruit flavours (think pears and nectarines) in a mouth-filling, rich style. Those that prefer a more rich, Alsace style Pinot Gris will totally dig it.
For $12.99 this is a steal, hands down. Take advantage and grab a case or two before it’s snapped up.
