An Oa is aged in a combination of ex-bourbon and Pedro-Ximenez sherry casks and the results is the signature smoky Ardbeg style with a mellow, smooth sweetness. A great stepping stone to some of the bigger, more serious Ardbeg styles!
Distilled on the small, remote Scottish island of Islay (pronounced eye-lah). An Oa is named after the Mull of Oa in the south west of Islay.
Ardbeg’s whiskies are out of this world. No, seriously you’ll find some of them orbiting on board the International Space Station at 17,000 miles per hour! Crazy we know, but Ardbeg are actually taking part in a study on the effects of zero gravity on maturation!
