This organic Sicilian number is quite possibly one of the most delicious Italian Pinot Grigios we’ve come across in ages!
While the Italians prefer their Pinot Gris bone-dry and neutral, typically our Kiwi Gris is a little more off-dry with a touch of sweetness. This sits comfortably in between. It’s refreshingly dry with crisp apple and pear fruit flavours – the ideal thirst quenching summer white!
Imported by Master of Wine Steve Bennett and given the thumbs up by a handful of other critics…
4 1/2 Stars, 90/100 (Sam Kim)
“It’s pristine and delicate, showing nectarine, lemon peel and green tea aromas on the nose, followed by a finely textured palate that’s light and bright. It’s well focused and lingering with mouth”
88/100 & Buy of the Week (Bob Campbell MW)
“Organic wine from Sicily with green apple, grapefruit and green pear flavours. Exactly what I would expect from an Italian pinot grigio in this price category – dry, crisp, restrained wine”

“I have to admit that I am no big Pinot Grigio fan – either the wines are so unripe as to be vapid and soulless, or they are too creamy and fat as to be undrinkable past the first glass. This Sicilian grown example is a surprise – boasting classic pear and honey characters, with crisp, punchy acidity that makes it appetising and interesting.”
This is one to serve nicely chilled from the fridge and with pasta, fish and your favourite summer salads.
