Gold in London! The International Wine Challenge (IWC) in London is one of the world’s most prestigious wine competitions. It’s also one of the most rigorously judged – over 500 wine experts from 38 countries, slurp their way through each wine in a blind tasting awarding Trophies, Golds, Silvers and Bronze.
In short – no wine gets a Gold at this show without jumping through plenty of hoops along the way!
So for Beresford’s McLaren Vale Shiraz 2021 to come away with a Gold medal and 95/100 rating is a stunning result! The IWC judges said “Brooding dark fruits with structured tannins and black fruit.”
The guys at Bereford were clearly pretty stoked too! “Each step, from vineyard to bottle, truly reflects the rich heritage and unique terroir of McLaren Vale, and the Beresford Wines legacy, which dates back to 1985.”
And it’s a snip under $20? Bargain.
In the heart of south Australia’s McLaren Vale you’ll find Beresford Estate. It’s home to the Beresford House (a luxury holiday retreat and pretty slick looking wedding venue), as well as luxury Beresford suites and villas and the Beresford Tasting Pavilion. Oh and did we mention the 70 hectare site also produces some pretty impressive McLaren Vale reds!
Winemakers since 1985 this is what they like to call their ‘Classic Shiraz’.
