When Nicolas François Billecart and Elisabeth Salmon said “I do” back in 1818 – the Champagne flowed! And, with a bit of help from Louis Salmon (brother of Elisabeth and a passionate oenologist), it’s carried on flowing in the Billecart-Salmon family for over 7 generations and now over 200 years! In fact, Billecart-Salmon is one of the few prestigious Champagne houses still owned by the original family.
This is the Billecart Salmon Champagne Brut Nature and as well as being a slight step up in class from the Brut Reserve it’s also had no sugar added to the dosage. This is a champers of better complexity, higher ageing time and higher reserve fruit used for blending.
Being under family ownership gives them 100% control over production and a meticulous attention to detail to produce some seriously world class Champagne.
