The Bogle family are a sixth generation farming family. The first generation in 1870 moved to California from Tennessee and set about trying to grow cherries, peaches and pears. Sadly that failed for the Bogles, but better things were to follow…grapes!
Best known for their big, fat, buttery styles Chardonnay – this is their Heritage Red that’s quite a bit like their Phantom Red label except using slightly more Californian Petite Sirah than Zinfandel (60/40 whereas Phantom Red is 50/50) from a different part of the vineyard and aged for 24 months in oak before release.
This is sure to impress if you love the Phantom Red. A medium to full bodied, rich and jammy, spicy fruit monster loaded with flavours of rich, dark berry fruit flavours and a touch of licorice and spice.
Damn, you're looking young for your age!
