What started as a family owned apple orchard in the Hawke’s Bay in the 80s has gone on to become one of NZ’s largest producer of premium organic food. You might know them for their organic apples and delicious organic chickens.
And now you’re going to know them as a seriously, seriously good producer of premium Hawke’s Bay wine. Organic too, of course.
They’re the Bostocks. Johnny Bostock along with his three boys Ben, George and Tom are running the family ‘biz these days. It was Johnny’s late wife Vicki that was the inspiration for igniting his passion for organic food and wine.
This 2019 vintage is the third release of the Bostock Vicki’s Vineyard Chardonnay and geez if they wanted to produce a wine in Vicki’s honour, they’ve done some job!
Scoring an incredible 95/100 (the same as the previous two releases) and a Top Ranking Award by Master of Wine Bob Campbell for The Real Review. A score like that puts a wine like this firmly at the big boys table of New Zealand Chardonnay that’s for sure!
Bob said “Ripe, luscious chardonnay with peach, nectarine, struck-flint, almond, ginger and nutty yeast lee flavours. An intense wine that delivers power with great subtlety. Clearly the product of a very good vintage.”
