What started as a family owned apple orchard in the Hawke’s Bay in the 80s has gone on to become one of NZ’s largest producer of premium organic food. You might know them for their organic apples and delicious organic chickens.
And now you’re going to know them as a seriously, seriously good producer of premium Hawke’s Bay wine. Organic too, of course.
They’re the Bostocks. Johnny Bostock along with his three boys Ben, George and Tom are running the family ‘biz these days. It was Johnny’s late wife Vicki that was the inspiration for igniting his passion for organic food and wine.
This 2019 vintage is the third release of the Bostock Vicki’s Vineyard Pinot Gris and it’s a real beauty.
It scored 94/100 and a Top Ranking Award by Master of Wine Bob Campbell for The Real Review. Bob said “Rich, ripe and fleshy pinot gris with succulent tree fruit, pear, apple, clove and spice flavours. It has an appealingly silken texture and good fruit-weight. Made in an off-dry style with a good fruit-and-acid balance and a subliminal hint of bitterness on the finish.”
