This is its big brother that’s spent four months in oak before release to add richness, complexity and spiciness – for just a few extra bucks you’re getting the next step up in class.

Produced by the Castano family in the south-east of Spain in a region called Yecla. The grape is Monastrell (also called Mourvedre in France and Mataro in Aussie) and it’s absolutely at home in this part of Spain. With hot summers, long cold winters and long periods of drought – most grapes wouldn’t stand a chance. But in this environment Monastrell brings its A-game!

An organic, oak aged Spanish red at a bloody good price. What’s not to love? This has got all year round drinkability. Our tip is to pair it with big, rich red meat dishes or sizzling slabs coming off the summer barbie!
