Pinotage is to South Africa’s what Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is to NZ. It’s what their best known for, it’s their signature grape! Darling Cellar’s Chocoholic Pinotage comes from the Western Cape region and while true Chocoholics might be a bit gutted to discover it doesn’t have real chocolate in it, it is ridiculously drinkable. It’s a total crowd pleaser style that you’ll be glad you gave a whirl.
Being a Pinot Noir crossbreed of sorts this pairs up with similar dishes to Pinot like duck, pork and venison. Or if you want to keep it casual whip it out with a meaty pizza or spicy curry on the weekend!
