Single vineyard wines, hand crafted in small batches and all bottles individually numbered. This is the 2019 vintage Merlot using fruit from their Redstone vineyard in Hawke’s Bay.
In terms of a Merlot this is a bit of a whopper – so tread with caution! Scoring 93/100 with Master of Wine Bob Campbell, who said “Intense, inky merlot with prune, plum, dark berry, liquorice, dark chocolate, mocha and wood-smoke supported by firm, ripe tannins. High alcohol (15%) and slightly jammy, but the palate is good with nice weight and length.”
Good to go now but crafted with the long term in mind too – cellar up to 15 years from vintage.
