Syrah is fast becoming the star of the Hawke’s Bay wine scene and this Church Road Syrah has been absolutely nailing it over the last few years as one of the top Syrahs around under $20.

You might remember the 2015 vintage took out the “Best Red Wine Buy of the Year” in Michael Cooper’s Wine Buyers Guide for 2017 – other Syrah producers in the region must be seriously scratching their heads wondering how they do it at such a keen price! The ’16 made an appearance in Cuisine magazine’s 2018 Syrah tasting, scored 4 Stars & Best Buy. The 2017 made the shortlist again for Michael Cooper’s Best Red Wine Buy of the Year for 2019. The 2020 vintage won Gold at the NZ International Wine Show and winner of a Top Value Award with Master of Wine Bob Campbell.

A silky, supple red with a touch of spice that will leave you grabbing a second glass in a flash! This is the style of red to be pairing with cuts of good old Kiwi lamb and game meats like duck and venison.
