Coopers Creek Limeworks Chardonnay. The number one selling wine at the Coopers Creek cellar door and a massive hit year after year with our Chardonnay mad guzzlers. It ain’t hard to see why. From a great 2021 vintage down in Hawke’s Bay this looks like yet another winner under this label.
Produced from their vineyard that sits right next door to a lime works (and the vineyard is strewn with limestone, thus the name!) this wine still received the usual Limeworks treatment with nine months in oak, producing their signature big, rich, mouth-filling style Chardonnay.
Find out why this is year after year their top selling wine at cellar door!
Scoring 4 1/2 stars with NZ critic Michael Cooper who said “If you like toasty, creamy, full-flavoured Chardonnays, try this. Grown in the Havelock North hills, it is fermented and matured in American oak casks. The vigorous 2021 vintage (4.5*) is very promising. Bright, light yellow/green, it is very fresh and vibrant, with concentrated, peachy flavours, seasoned with toasty oak, balanced acidity and obvious cellaring potential; best drinking 2024+.”
