Made by a winemaker, not a bean counter. His name’s Gary and he’s the CFO at McPherson Wines and he has absolutely no idea how much it cost to craft this Double Gold medal winning Shiraz from the Grampians area of Victoria.
Probably a good job too. Single vineyard fruit, gently crushed and stashed into ridiculously expensive French oak for 12 months. Gary would have had dollar signs in his eyes for a wine like this. The winemaker had other ideas. It’s all yours for a snip under twenty bucks. Enjoy. Just don’t tell Gary.
Gold at the NZ International Wine Show. Gold at the Royal Adelaide Wine Show. 92/100 James Halliday, who said “It’s well worth cellaring if you can keep your hands off it.” How long you ask? Halliday reckons drink it from now up until 2030.
