Here’s an Elephant everyone in the room will want to talk about! Elephant Hill Sparkling Rose.
Elephant Hill are a Hawke’s Bay producer with class and style. They set the bar sky high when it comes to quality and that might be something to do with their German owners, Roger and Reydan Weiss, that spare no expense in running this state of the art winery located on the stunning Te Awanga coastline.
So when the Elephant crew came to craft a Rosé with a slight sparkle to it there was only going to be one outcome – all class baby!
Heck, the label alone does it for us and that’s before we’ve knocked the crown cap off the top. The label was designed by local Hawke’s Bay artist Zoe Chisholm in a contemporary abstract landscape design depicting the view of the Elephant Hill winery, vineyards, the Te Awanga coastline and Cape Kidnappers on the horizon.
A Rosé with a touch of effervescence and made with 98% Syrah and a 2% splash of Viognier to add some fresh aromatics. A lively, fresh, fruit driven style slightly sparkling wine that can be enjoyed nicely chilled and on its own or with light salads, white meats and fresh seafood.
