Har and Sophie Eradus, and their two kids, were originally in the flower business in Holland but in 1982 they moved to NZ. After 20 years of dealing with bunches of flowers it was time to get their hands on bunches of another kind, grapes!
In 2004 Hanna and Michiel Eradus took over the reigns. When cleaning out an old shed at the winery one day they came across an old pot belly door with an embossed logo. Wiping it down, it revealed the letters “H, S and E” – Har and Sophie Eradus maybe? Spooky!
Their delicious, dry style Rosé is made from Pinot Noir grapes from a single vineyard site in Marlborough’s Awatere Valley. Named after Michiel and Hanna’s daugher (aka ‘Super Lady’) Sadie. They call it “Delicious and loads of fun.”
Try it with light salads, pasta and rice dishes. Or if seafood’s your thing how about grilled fish, crayfish or lobster? Or save it for afters and serve with fruit tart.
Damn, you're looking young for your age!
