This is a premium label sparkling from one of the world’s leading Cava producers – Freixenet (pronounced fresh-eh-net!). As part of a one-off importer clearance we’ve scooped stocks at a silly low $14.99 – elsewhere this is selling for between $20-23 per bottle so the savings are pretty decent.
Cava is to Spanish sparkling wine what Champagne is to France. Although technically they can’t call it Champagne it’s made in the same way, in NZ we call it “Methode Traditionelle”.
From the heart of Cava country in Catalan and produced using Grenache and the lesser know Trepat red grape and aged in the Freixenet cellars for 12-18 months before release. A bright strawberry pink colour and in the flute this is a fresh, light and fruity style fizz!
