Glenmorangie A Tale of Tokyo Whisky – a whisky as full of delicious contradictions as Tokyo itself.
Dr Bill is Glenmorangie’s Director of all things whisky – he’s officially known as Director of Distilling, Whisky Creation & Whisky Stocks if you must know. Tokyo is one of globe-trotting Bill’s favourite places to visit and this inspired his idea for the latest limited edition release by Glenmorangie.
A Tale of Tokyo is Glenmorangie aged in both sherry and bourbon casks and part matured in casks made from Japan’s sought-after Mizunara oak. He describes it as “bitter cherries and mouth-watering orange zest with incense and sweet oak – a unique and complex flavour profile resulting from the recipe of Mizunara oak, Bourbon and Sherry casks.”
They then asked Japanese artist Yamaguchi Akira to create the bottle label and presentation box. The scene is a busy, bustling Tokyo scene with a few hidden Bills in the vibrant illustration. Where’s Billy? Buy yourself a bottle, enjoy neat or on the rocks and see how many you can spot!
