H for Haselgrove. H for Hell Yeah! These guys have been flying under the radar over the years – but it’s getting pretty hard to miss them now.

There’s a lot to love here – especially the price! This is some seriously delicious Shiraz for under fifteen bucks –  packed full of flavour and packing a punch at 14.8%! So, so deliciously drinkable and the ultimate crowd pleasing red.

The previous two vintages have been big hits – and this latest 2018 has raced out of the traps with a Gold @ the NZ Int’l Wine Show 2020 and an impressive 4 1/2 Star, 91/100 rating from local critic Sam Kim.

Sam said “Delightfully charming and fruit forward, the wine shows black doris plum, raspberry, vanilla and toasted almond characters on the nose, leading to a succulent palate that’s plump and beautifully rounded. It’s flavoursome and friendly, making it fabulously drinkable.”

These guys are a current Five Star James Halliday winery, a former Dark Horse Winery of the Year (2015) winner, former Winestate Australian Wine Company of the Year winner (2017) and former Winestate Australian Winemaker of the Year winner (2017).

Aussie’s leading wine guru James Halliday knows a good thing when he sees it. Listing them as a Dark Horse winery of the Year – he called these guys “A winery on the move.” They’re making all the right moves that’s for sure.

Drinking superbly right now but this has the obvious potential to be tucked away in the cellar for several years yet. Looking for a food match? Any kind of barbecued, grilled or roasted slab of red meat ought to do the trick!
