There is nowhere else on the planet that produces amazing aromatic white styles quite like Alsace in France. We’re talking Pinot Gris, Riesling, Gewürztraminer and Pinot Blanc.
Famille Hugel have been making wine in this world famous corner of the wine world since 1639 and with 12 consecutive family generations at the helm they’ve knocked out a few vintages in their time.
This is their Classic Pinot Gris and it sure as hell is a classic. This is Hugel’s signature Pinot Gris and it’s right on point with style of Gris that Alsace is so well known for. Using fruit from 30 years old vines this is a rich, weighty style of Gris that finishes dry.
The crew at Hugel were clearly pretty damn happy with how this latest 2020 release ended up. “As expected, 2020 is a vintage marked by the sun, and lovers of 2009, 2011 or 2015 will find in it a worthy successor to these vintages touched by the power of Helios.”
