We make some damn fine sparkling wine in Aotearoa. And when it comes to Kiwi sparkling, they don’t come much better than this to be honest!
A former Cuisine No.1 rated bubbly and a regular rating of 95+ points from Master of Wine Bob Campbell. In fact in March 2020 Bob tried this one again, scoring it 96/100 and calling it “An ethereal texture with a pleasantly dry and surprisingly length finish. A totally charming fizz.”
In fact that score of 96 points makes this wine the No.1 rated Pinot Noir sparkling blend with The Real Review, which Bob is part of.
You wouldn’t expect anything less than all class from Jane Hunter, one of the Grande Dames of the NZ wine scene. She loves pink bubbles so when she decided to add a sparkling Rosé to her MiruMiru range (the Maori word for bubbles) there was no fluffing around.
Using the classic Champagne grape varieties of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier, it’s aged 18 months on lees to add richness and texture.
