Coonawarra Cabernet aged in Irish whiskey barrels?! What started off as a crazy wine experiment back in 2012 has now become a regular in the Jacob’s Creek line up – Jacob’s Creek Double Barrel. And as the name suggests, there’s more than one barrel that helps to add more richness, texture and complex flavours.
What started with selected parcels of Cabernet from Coonawarra vineyards was first aged in traditional American oak barrels before being finished in aged Irish whisky barrels!
All that talk of oak and barrels doesn’t paint the real deal – this wine’s all about the fruit. We’re talking rich, ripe berry, plum and cassis flavours. Drink it now and over the next 3-4 years.
