Head to the very southern foothills of the French Alps and you’ll find Alpes De Haute Provence – a sub region of the world famous Provence.
This is Jas Des Vignes Alpes De Haute Provence Rose. Jas Des Vignes literally means ‘sheep fold of the vines’ and while the area isn’t actually known for sheep, or any large scale agriculture of any kind, you will find vineyards dotted among the hills, mountains and valleys.
Using fruit from a selection of the best vineyards on the hills close to the village of Manosque the guys at Ravoir et Fils have crafted this gorgeous, classic Provence style Rosé. The vineyards here are at altitude so get those typical hot summer days but much cooler nights – meaning Rosé from Alpes De Haute Provence is typically lighter and more aromatic.
Packaged in this gorgeous looking bottle this is bang on the money for a classic Provence Rosé. Light berry fruit flavours with a crisp, minerally, dry finish. Enjoy it nicely chilled with light summer salads, pastas, grilled fish or a charcuterie board.
