Shhhh. Can you keep a secret? She calls it OTQ. On the quiet.
Jules’ slight obsession with Marlborough and Marlborough wine has led to all sorts of wild and wonderful things. Identifying very special parcels of Pinot Noir grapes from her Branken Hill Vineyard in the Southern Valleys sub region of Marlborough, she hand harvested a very promising looking parcel of grapes, quickly crushed and left them on their skins for a couple of hours.
The result? Well let’s just say the wine tastes as good as the bottle looks! Vibrant summer fruit flavours delivered with a delicate, dry finish.
This 2021 vintage received a whopping 95/100 & Top Rank Award from Bob Campbell MW. Bob said “Made from pinot noir grapes grown specifically for rosé. A mid-pink wine, with a fragrant and quite floral aroma that leads to sweet berry fruit and a touch of fresh herbs on the palate. Intense and appealing wine. Gave it 94 points and thought how could you improve that? Then immediately promoted it to 95. “
A special wine deserves a special label and Jules has gone to town with the label and bottle design of her OTQ series. An absolutely stunning screen printed illustration that takes its inspiration from the flora and fauna found in vineyards around Marlborough. As far as Jules is aware this is totally unique to any NZ wine! Bound to be the talk of the table at the next dinner party that’s for sure.
