Shhhh. Can you keep a secret? She calls it OTQ. On the quiet.
Jules’ slight obsession with Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc has led to all sorts of wild and wonderful things. Identifying very special parcels of Sauvignon Blanc grapes from her Meadbowbank vineyard in the Taylors Pass sub region of Marlborough, she hand harvested, whole cluster pressed them into old French oak barrels and fermented them with wild yeasts for almost a year.
The result is a very special wine, a style of Sauvignon we think people should drink more of. A softer, more complex wine – a brilliant alternative to the classic style and showcasing that Sauvignon ain’t no one trick pony.
A special wine deserves a special label and Jules has gone to town with the label and bottle design of her OTQ series. An absolutely stunning screen printed illustration that takes its inspiration from the flora and fauna found in vineyards around Marlborough. As far as Jules is aware this is totally unique to any NZ wine! Bound to be the talk of the table at the next dinner party that’s for sure.
