Bernard de Nonancourt inherited Laurent Perrier from his Mum back in 1948 – after being part of the armored division that stormed Hitler’s wine cave and discovered a half a million bottles of hidden wine! He dreamt of creating the perfect Grand Cuvee Champagne.
With each vintage being different it was only through the “Art of Blending” that Bernard could achieve the perfection he was chasing. He launched “Grand Siecle” in 1959 and in his own words “to recreate the perfect year, the one that nature, on its own, cannot provide.”
Only 25 editions of this very special Champagne have beenThis is Grand Siecle No.25 and it’s a blend of 2008 (65%), 2007 (25%) and 2006 (10%). Using fruit from 9 Grand Crus and aged for 12 years on lees. Perfect takes time after all.
