La Cuvee might sound like a swanky new marketing term of Laurent Perrier’s signature Champers – but it’s been 15 years of hard work in the making! With more Chardonnay in this blend is took them over a decade to acquire the Chardonnay vineyards they needed and finally master the blend.
If you think these swanky French Champagne houses have had it easy, think again. Laurent Perrier (or “LP” if you want to sound in the know) have had a turbulent ride since they started in 1812.
Battling (literally) through Two World Wars and almost going broke because of it, while one of the owner’s sons, Bernard de Nonancourt, was part of the armored division that stormed Hitler’s wine cave and discovered a half a million bottles of hidden wine!
These days LP are one of the world’s leading Champagne names and the fourth biggest globally by number of bottles sold and this is their signature Champagne in a large format 1.5 Litre magnum bottle.
