Produced by the Te Awa crew (and part of the Villa Maria wine group) and while it’s obvious they’re making bloody good value wine we did wonder on earth they’re smoking down there when they came up with the label.
Featuring a “Flamingo Recluse” which apparently “Has a gorgeous expression of colour but won’t say much until you get to know her. The introvert with a colourful appearance who doesn’t want to talk about it, once she opens up, you’ll be in awe of her artistry.” Riiiight.
This is a medium bodied, juicy style Marlborough Pinot with a touch of savoury spice and seriously good value at this price. If you want to know the full story of the Flamingo Recluse the Te Awa crew will happily tell you but only over a plate full of pork sliders…
