Produced by the Te Awa crew (and part of the Villa Maria wine group) and while it’s obvious they’re making bloody good value wine we did wonder on earth they’re smoking down there when they came up with the label.

Featuring a “Flying Squidmill” which apparently is “Small enough to squeeze through a tooth-gap, the Flying Squidmill is a bashful creature….Considered a pest by some, it has occasionally attempted to mate with human’s eyebrows.” Riiiight.

A Silver medal winner at the International Wine Challenge in London, with the judges there saying “Fresh peach and gooseberry fruit with a lovely natural backbone of lychee with a crisp mineral finish.”

Devour with fresh fish and seafood like grilled prawns with fresh lemon.
