“Central Otago Pinot at its finest” might sound like a pretty big call to make by the guys at Lowburn Ferry – but when you’ve stashed away the seriously impressive gongs they have you’ve earned the right to boast a little!
These guys are a boutique Otago producer with only around 1700 cases produced each year. This is a label that’s won countless Trophies, Golds and 5 Star reviews over the years and is well worth its price tag of $50.
There’s a certain science to Lowburn’s success – soil science! Owned by Roger and Jean Gibson, who bought a 40 hectare block of land in the Lowburn Valley back in 1991. Roger is a soil scientist so was a pretty good judge as to whether or not his newly claimed patch would produce top notch wine. It’s fair to say the answer is…yes!
A serious, full bodied style Central Pinot that could easily take on the world’s best Pinots. The best fifty bucks you’ll spend all year! Drink now and over the next 6-7 years.
Damn, you're looking young for your age!
