PURE PINOT GRIS PARADISE! Massive winery clearance deal – one of Waiheke Island’s most iconic producers, a jaw dropping $14.99 (RRP $26.99), this is one of the white wine bargain buys for summer 2020!
If you haven’t visited the eastern end of Waiheke Island, you’re missing out big time. Nestled in among sandy beaches, coves and picture perfect Aotearoa coastline you’ll find the Man O’ War vineyard.
In 1769 Captain Cook saw the coastline’s potential for timber for the Royal Navy (thus the wine’s name). In 1993 the family behind this range of wines planted their first vines.
This is their “Paradise” Pinot Gris and it’s a label you don’t see released every year but when 2019 came along they simply had to. After all, in the words of winemaker Duncan, 2019 was “one of the best seasons in the history of grape growing on Waiheke Island”. Named after the Paradise vineyard on Ponui Island, a section of land they reckon is pure paradise in Aotearoa.
A fairly similar style to their massively popular white label Pinot Gris (one of their top selling wines for good reason – it’s ‘effin delicious!). A medium, slightly sweeter style Pinot Gris that’s balanced by fresh, crisp acidity and has a refreshingly dry finish. The absolute perfect thirst quenching style for summer!
Limited stocks so pop a case or three of Paradise in your pantry for the summer ahead…this won’t last!
