A bolt from the blue and a blast from the past! Anyone that was guzzling Chardonnay regularly back in the 80s and 90s will known Morton Estate Black Label Chardonnay. It made a huge slam dunk in 2018 when it took out 5 Stars and No.2 ranked NZ Chardonnay in Cuisine and ever since then this has become a MASSIVE favourite with our Chardonnay lovers!
This is their latest ’22 release and we’re happy to report it’s made in the same rich, creamy, classic Gizzy style Chardonnay that made the region famous. It’s a style that’s sure to melt even the coldest hearts!
Morton Brown was a kiwifruit farmer who turned his hand to vino and produced his first vintage at his Katikati vineyard in 1983. A year later his Black Label Chardy won Gold at the 1984 Royal Easter Wine Show. Wind the clock forward a few years and in 1995 Morton hit international wine star status as the Black Label Chardonnay won a Gold medal and Trophy for Best Chardonnay at the prestigious International Wine Challenge in London!
