Mt Difficulty Roaring Meg Pinot Noir is the secondary label of Central Otago’s Mt.Difficulty and named after a local stream. Yawn, not another wine named after a bloody stream, river or tree!
In fact this stream and the one that neighbours it, Gentle Annie, actually get their name from two young ladies that “serviced” the area back in the late 1800s when gold mining in Central Otago was thriving.
Young men headed to the region in search of fortune – Meg and Annie were two ladies of the night that provided the guys with an after hours service! Roaring Meg, what a nickname. Need we say more?
This is one of the kingpin Central Otago Pinot names. Soft, juicy berry goodness – bust it out with duck, lamb and pork dishes.
Damn, you're looking young for your age!
