“It is clear how Marlborough is becoming a place for good-quality keenly priced Pinot Noir.”
Bang on! That’s what a bunch of Masters of Wine from around the world had to say at a recent international Pinot Noir slurping contest. They ain’t wrong. Central Otago might get the regular headlines when it comes to Pinot, but there’s big value to be found in Marlborough.
It’s a big old region though which is why the guys at Mud House decided to narrow things down a bit and focus on specific sub regions found in NZ’s largest wine producing region. And narrow they did with the launch of their brand spanking new “The Narrows” Pinot Noir.
The area is a narrowing found at in the upper Wairau Valley and its north facing location alongside the Wairau river makes it ideal for producing particularly delicious Pinot! Medium bodied and full of fresh cherry and red fruit flavours with a touch of spice.
