When the Maison of Mumm colabs with top quality, 100% hand harvested Central Otago Pinot Noir grapes – the result is a bit of Mumm magic in a flute!
For the first time in the region’s history the world famous Champagne house of G.H Mumm has collaborated with the Central Otago region to produce a world class sparkling wine. This is the second addition to the incredible Mumm Terroir series. The first in the series was Mumm Marlborough and now they’ve headed south to help create Mumm Central Otago Blanc de Noirs.
The man central to the project is talented winemaker Jamie Marfell. Jamie’s been crafting still and sparkling wine for over 18 years so he knows a trick or two! Old world know-how and new world nouse comes together to create this first class sparkling using all the same grape varieties and techniques used in Champagne, France. World class Kiwi fizz with a strong French accent!
It’s been no easy task (and a fair bit of pressure working alongside one of the world’s great Champagne names!) and as Jamie put it “Developing Mumm Terroirs’ Central Otago Blanc de Noirs took time and patience… but the hard work has paid off, and we are thrilled to be able to showcase the craft of G.H. Mumm alongside the exceptional fruit from Central Otago.”
“I’m just privileged to be associated with the marriage of two iconic brands. The G.H. Mumm legacy is built around producing Champagne that is pinot noir dominant, and with the release of this wine, I feel I am respecting this legacy… being 100 percent pinot noir, it also shows how Central Otago can make a world-class sparkling wine.”
Available in this Mumm Central Otago Blanc de Noirs branded gift box for a limited time.
