It’s the home to some of Italy’s most flavoursome and exciting reds, it’s picture perfect postcard stuff and it looks a lot like the heel of a boot when you look at it on a map – we’re talking about southern Italy, Puglia to be precise.
It’s where No. Zero Negroamaro IGP comes from, made by the crew at the Menhir Salento winery. Ten hectares of vineyard nestled along the breathtaking Adriatic coastline and producing wines like this from 80 year old vines! Bliss!
The label might say ‘zero’ but this is 100% Negroamaro at its best baby. Negroamaro is the grape and it’s one of the varieties that, along with Primitivo, is famous in this part of the wine world. Famous because it makes medium to full bodied, warm and spicy reds full of dark, sweet fruited flavours that offer great bang for buck.
Wines from Puglia are great food friendly reds and will go with all sorts of rustic Italian fare as well as the classic pizza, pasta and meatball style dishes!
