They are one of the true legends of the story of wine in Aussie and although they’ve been a bit quieter in recent times it’s fair to say the legends of Orlando are back!
With a history dating back to 1874 and winner of over 1,000 top end awards since the 1980s these legendary wine labels have been given a new lease of life and we’re stoked to see them back on our shelves! We’re talking about legends like Centenary Hill Shiraz, Lawsons Padthaway Shiraz, Jacaranda Coonawarra Cabernet and the Steingarten Eden Valley Riesling.
This is the 2021 vintage of Orlando Bungalow Lane Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon and it’s a classic big, powerful style red we’ve come to know and love from this part of the wine world. Aged for 17 months in 100% French oak it scored 93/100 in James Halliday’s Wine Companion.
They said “A thoroughly modern cabernet sauvignon with serious fruit purity and some great structure. Super deep magenta–crimson hue with ripe blackberry, black cherry and macerated summer berry fruits on display. Hints of licorice, sage and liminal glimpses of dried herbs and pastis with a touch of undergrowth complexity. Grainy, granitic tannins provide ample support and there is a rolling tide of crème de cassis on the finish.”
A legend made with the cellar in mind. Try tucking this one away up until 2033.
